Control bacterial pathogens with BioStryke or VAM.

VAM

Extremely concentrated phage driven solutions for pathogen control

Our VAM product line consists of extremely concentrated bacteriophage cocktails, consisting of 5 or more phage species. Composition is dependent on which serovars are present on your product and facility and must be diluted at a ratio of 1:3000 to 1:5000 in your facility.

VAM can be formulated to target Salmonella, Listeria or E. coli. Each phage cocktail must be kept seperate and stored refrigerated to maintain extremely high concentrations. When ready to use, VAM products can be diluted together to target multiple pathogens.

SK8 VAM-S

GRAS • FDA approved • USDA approved under FSIS 7120.1

SK8 VAM-S is an effective, natural and environmentally-friendly bacteriophage solution that reduces various strains of Salmonella commonly found on a wide range of food products. It also preserves the organoleptic properties, nutritional attributes and beneficial bacteria found within different food products. SK8 VAM-S is intended for use on poultry, red meat, eggs, fruits, vegetables, fish, and shellfish.

Product Features

Preserves the sensory and nutritional properties of foods.

Conventional techniques to fight pathogens negatively affect the texture and overall look of consumer foods, while also depleting important nutrients. SK8 VAM-S does not compromise the nutritional value or quality of your food products.

Safeguards your reputation.

Phages can play a critical role in maintaining your company's reputation by enhancing quality control and mitigating the risk of expensive product recalls. By using phages to detect and eliminate harmful bacteria, you can ensure the safety and integrity of your products, building customer trust and loyalty.

Safe to use and non-corrosive.

Unlike conventional techniques used to fight pathogens, phages do not cause damage to your facility's equipment and surfaces. These natural viral agents specifically target and eliminate harmful bacteria without corroding or degrading materials, preserving the integrity and longevity of your infrastructure.

Less likely to develop resistance.

Bacteria are less likely to develop resistance to phages compared to antibiotics. Phages can rapidly adapt to bacterial defenses, continuously evolving new strategies to infect and destroy bacteria. This dynamic interaction reduces the likelihood of long-term resistance development.

Natural, abundant and environmentally-friendly.

Phages are the most ubiquitous organisms on the planet and can be found everywhere. They only attack specific bacteria and do not recognize or pose a threat to human or animal cells. This unique ability makes them a safe and effective solution for bacterial control.

Targets the bad while protecting the good.

Phages preserve essential bacteria, which play a crucial role in human health by aiding in the digestion of food and the absorption of vital nutrients. By selectively targeting harmful bacteria, phages ensure that beneficial microbial populations remain intact.

Phage Application

SK8 VAM-S can be applied to your food products using your existing equipment or with newer technologies such as electrostatic spraying systems. These methods ensure thorough and uniform distribution, providing strong protection against harmful bacteria. We'll work with you to design an efficient and cost-effective solution tailored to your processing line, as well as ensuring a seamless implementation process.

While highly effective, SK8 VAM-S does not have to be your only defense against unwanted pathogens. Phages can be used in conjunction with other intervention methods as part of a broader defense strategy, providing a more robust and comprehensive approach to bacterial control.

When food safety matters most, there's SK8 Biotech.
